Welcome to our school community.
It is my privilege to serve as Principal of Burrendah Primary School, where we are dedicated to engaging and inspiring students to thrive as active global citizens. This guiding statement underpins everything we do: from classroom learning and specialist programs, to how we treat one another and engage with the world beyond our school grounds.
Our values of Respect, Resilience, Reach and Responsibility shape our culture and guide our decisions:
- Respect reminds us to value the uniqueness of each student, the contribution of our staff and the strength of our multicultural community.
- Resilience empowers every learner to embrace challenge, persist through difficulty and grow stronger through setbacks.
- Reach encourages us to aim high, to explore possibilities beyond our immediate boundaries, and to connect with our global community.
- Responsibility calls on each of us — students, staff, and families alike — to act with integrity, to care for one another and our learning environment and to show citizenship both when on the school grounds and in the community.
At Burrendah Primary School, we place students and learning at the centre of all that we do. We believe that every child deserves to feel known, valued and cared for. Our dedicated staff are committed to designing learning experiences that are meaningful, engaging and tailored to individual strengths and aspirations — whether academic, creative, physical, social, or emotional.
Modern learning demands students become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and confident collaborators. With this in mind, we continually explore innovative programs, leverage modern technologies and forge partnerships that enrich student learning and connect them with broader opportunities.
We are also proud of our recent achievements, and we have many to brag about! Whether it’s our outstanding academic gains, impressive performing arts and science program, successes in sporting events, or the development of student-led initiatives that extend beyond the classroom — each achievement reinforces our commitment to excellence and opportunity. These celebrations affirm that as a school we are not only learning today but constantly evolving and improving for tomorrow.
Our school has a proud history as a central part of the Willetton community. From its foundation in 1976 to today, Burrendah Primary School has evolved into a vibrant, inclusive learning environment that reflects the aspirations of our multicultural community. Over the years we have seen the school grow, our programs expand, and our student’s flourish. We also value our strong partnerships with Willetton Senior High School and Castlereagh School, sharing our boundaries with other educational institutions enables us to build partnerships to benefit our own educational programs and aspirations.
I invite you — our families and community partners — to join us actively on this journey. Attend our events, share your ideas, support our students, and engage with our programs. When we work together, our children flourish, our community strengthens, and our school becomes all it can be. I look forward with optimism to the opportunities that lie ahead, and to the many successes — big and small — that our students will achieve while they are in our care.
Thank you for being part of this vibrant school. I look forward with optimism to the opportunities that lie ahead, and to the many successes — big and small — that our students will achieve as they grow into capable, caring and globally aware citizens.
